Refuge is the largest single provider of specialist services to survivors of domestic, sexual and gender-based abuse. At Refuge, we campaign for changes in attitudes and laws, and for the safety of women and children.

Refuge operates the 24/7 National Domestic Abuse Helpline, offering vital support to women and children escaping abuse. We provide safe emergency accommodation through 65 refuges across England and run the UK’s only specialist service for survivors of technology-facilitated and economic abuse.

In England and Wales, 1 in 4 women will experience domestic abuse in their lifetime, and on average, 1 woman every 5 days is murdered by their current or former partner.

Our life-changing services support thousands of survivors, helping them to overcome the physical, emotional, financial, and logistical impacts of abuse and help rebuild their lives.
